Q&A following the film
Witness Ryan McClure, Connor Ryan, and Isaiah Branch-Boyle's experience of surviving multiple avalanches with one another; risking their lives to save each other, the emotional roller coaster of the media coverage that followed, and their process of reclaiming their story and love for skiing.
Surviving Our Story features not only unprecedented avalanche and rescue footage but also a deeper look into what it takes to make the journey back to skiing following a traumatic accident. In this time where media rushes to have the headlines on every story and each outlet is in competition for clicks and views, this film looks deeper into the effects that system has on people trying to reclaim their narrative from the trauma they have lived through.
(This film features real footage from a life threatening avalanche rescue and may be triggering to some audiences. This is not a full analysis of the decision making, rescue, and snowpack surrounding the accident. Stay tuned for more content on those subjects or check out The San Juan Snowcast Season 3, Episode 15.)
